What Foods Can / Can Not Your Dog Eat?

Nutrition of pets involves a big part of their health maintainability. Our dogs which we do everything their happiness; are quite sensitive about diet, maybe no fewer than you suppose. Do you know that some foods are toxic to dogs? Or do you know that dogs -unlike cats- are not strict carnivores? While meat makes up the majority of their diet, domestic dogs can also obtain nutrients from fruits, vegetables and grains.

Don’ts

All we know that dogs shouldn’t be eaten fatty and salty foods or chocolate. However, “Don’ts” list is not that short. Let’s dig it out together!

  1. Raw Sausages

  2. Cooked Bones

  3. Onions

  4. Onion Powder

  5. Garlic

  6. Coffee of Caffeine Products

  7. Chocolate

  8. Avocado

  9. Fruit Seeds, Raisins, Currants, Macadamia Nuts, Grapes, Corncobs

  10. Mushrooms

  11. Salt

  12. Lemon, Limes

  13. Xylitol (An artificial sweetener may be found in sugar-free chewing gum, candy, toothpaste and sugar-free peanut butter)

  14. Mouldy or Spoiled Foods or Compost

  15. Alcohol

Do’s

The recommended foods list is a bit different from not recommended one because this list contains some approaches and specifications rather than food names only.

  1. Look for the words ‘complete’ and ‘balanced’ on the packaging when you buy any food for your dog.

  2. Avoid home-cooked diets as far as possible.

  3. Take into consideration your dog medical conditions.

  4. Ask your vet for help.

Your dog can eat these:

  1. Carrots

  2. Pineapples

  3. Watermelons

  4. Apples

  5. Mango

  6. Bananas

  7. Strawberries

  8. Blackberries

  9. Blueberries

  10. Oranges

  11. Broccoli

  12. Potatoes

  13. Sweat Potatoes

  14. Coconut

  15. Turkey

  16. Pork

  17. Chicken

  18. Salmon

  19. Beef

  20. Steak

  21. Shrimp

  22. Egg

  23. Kefir

  24. Bread

  25. Rice

Limited

There are some foods which you have to be careful to give your dog:

  1. Cherries

  2. Tomatoes

  3. Peanuts

  4. Milk

  5. Honey

  6. Cinnamon

  7. Almonds

  8. Cheese

Don’t forget that your dog may be allergic to any of them including Do’s list! So, you should do your dog health check at the vet.
